Pablo Primary + Powder
The 1950’s layout of these two bathrooms really catered to a different era of “His and Hers” where the powder room was greatly oversized to accomodate a make up vanity and the primary bathroom was a nod to a Navy vessel. As fun as these were it was time to bring them up to speed with the way that we live and move around our home. Instead of the primary bathroom being a pass through to the kids wing, we closed that off creating a more romantic ensuite. Borrowing half of the powder room we gained a large shower where we now have two shower heads and lots of space. Having two separate vanities across from one another allowed us to create a water closet where the previous vanity had been which meant we could simply have an arched doorway leading into the bathroom giving it a beautiful flow from the primary bedroom. The floors in this bathroom are essentially created from throw away pieces of marble my local slab yard was generous enough to gift me!
The powder room, now quite small feels perfect for its purpose! The wall mounted sink is made from a remnant slab of Rosso Marble where the floors are a mix of Zia cement tile and saltillo. Being such a small space it made sense to have lots of fun and throw in a big punch of pink which is lightly sprinkled throughout the entire house.
